It all began with a one use film camera on holiday when I was around seven or eight. I would sneak away to take secret photos, setting up pretend compositions resembling mini set designs. This creativity followed me into my teenage years, turning to using a digital camera instead.

I returned back to using film cameras in my first year of university, I mostly use two a tiny point and shoot and a Nikon 80’s auto film camera. The Nikon has been my favourite for a while - it’s the easiest to turn on and snap in the moment as soon as I see something that evokes a feeling in me.

These photos are a selection of my favourites from a trip up north to Mallaig in the north of Scotland, featuring my partner’s journey through from Glasgow (where we live) and moments we had enjoying the peace and serenity of the landscape.
